As part of our cherished annual tradition, we gathered on the first day to welcome our new Class 1 children and their teacher to the Constantia Waldorf School. Our Class 13 students played a special role by presenting each child with a sunflower, card and escorting them into the assembly to introduce them to our community.

We are delighted to extend a warm welcome to our Class 1 teacher, Sharna Ranjith, as she begins her first Waldorf Primary School cycle. A heartfelt welcome to our Class 1 parents, new families, and staff, and of course, a big welcome back to our returning families!

What we hold closest to our hearts is the well-rounded education we offer our students, centered on the Waldorf threefold approach of ‘head, hands, and heart’. While this kind of learning cannot be fully measured, it shapes the entirety of our students’ development. From Toddler Group to High School, our dedicated teachers along with the Learner Support Faculty when needed, guide our students through each phase of their learning adventure. This, combined with the invaluable partnership of our parents, creates a thriving, supportive community ‘nurturing conscious individuals’.

Our High School students begin formal tests and examinations in Class 12. They complete the Waldorf curriculum, concluding with their Class 12 projects, and then focus on the NSC syllabus for the next year and a half. In their final year, they tackle the NSC curriculum and matriculation exams with determination, exemplified by the Class of ’24.

A big ‘shout out’ and ‘Well Done’ to our Matriculants! This class achieved a 100% Bachelors Pass and a class average of 74,9%. Boasting 71 subject distinctions among 26 students. The highest average received was 88% (7 distinctions), 7 “A” aggregates and 6 subjects achieved “A” averages (80% – 92%).

We are not done yet…

At the end of 2024, 40 Art and Design Matric learners were selected by the Western Cape Education Department to participate in the prestigious “Face of Design and Visual Art” competition. From this group, the event’s sponsors, ‘The Creative Academy’, narrowed down the selection to 24 finalists. These finalists were chosen based on the exceptional quality of their work, which stood out based on their creativity and willingness to push beyond conventional boundaries.

Of the 24 finalists, 13 represented Art and 11 represented Design. A special congratulations goes out to Gabriel Wilcox, who secured third place and was awarded a R30,000 bursary to The Creative Academy for his outstanding achievement!

With this all said happy Term 1.
