Last Saturday, the Constantia Waldorf School held its AGM, and what a turnout! Our community showed up in full force, ready to have their voices heard.
The AGM started at 9:15 am, and we heard opening addresses and feedback from both CoT and BoD. Our financials were also presented by a representative auditor for a financial check-in.
Thereafter the floor was opened to our members who brought their questions, concerns, and feedback to the community.
Just before we all cast our votes, we heard from all of our Nominees, after which voting took place and was tallied.
We would like to extend a few special thank-yous:
To our tech team, Demian Häuptle and Grant Atkinson, who enabled us to offer our AGM online for those unable to attend in person. This was the first time we were able to provide this option, and it was incredibly helpful, as it also allowed our online attendees to vote remotely. Thank you!
To our team of child carers: Layla Prince, Mercedes, Cassiem Baartman, Marlene Niewenhuisen, Beverly Kleinhans, and all of our incredible High School SRC members and helpers. Thank you!
To the BoD AGM Organising Group and the Marketing Committee, for doing an outstanding job keeping everyone informed and connected throughout the process.
To the Constantia Waldorf Admin Team, for all your work behind the scenes and on the day. Special thanks to the selected vote counters who carefully counted and verified the votes over many hours: Terri-Anne De Sousa, Demian Häuptle, Kim Mayne, Junita Bergman, Hayley De Vries, Jasmina Osman, and Wilma Dawes. (Votes were announced at 2:30pm).
Thank you to Rex Schelling, for MC’ing the AGM with warmth, insight and professionalism.

A huge thank-you goes to Derek Oxlee and the Facilities Team, who have done an incredible amount of work across our estate since the beginning of the year. The rains are now doing their part, and we look forward to seeing the campus bloom in spring. Derek will be on sabbatical until the end of the year, taking time to rest and recharge in preparation for his 2026 cycle. He will be around running the Outdoor Classroom.
Finally, we bid a warm farewell to Emma Campbell, High School Teacher and Guardian, as she spreads her wings into a new career. We wish her every success and hope the next chapter is both meaningful and fulfilling.
Martha Barbra Majora, our relief aftercarer, will be working in the Primary School Aftercare while Susie Jardine teaches Class 2, in relief, of Astrid Grimley who will be on maternity leave. Aniela von Maltietz replaces Jody Terblanche as the Primary School Eurythmist.
Class 12 Projects – SAVE THE DATE 1st and 2nd August, 2025: The Constantia Waldorf High School Class 12 Projects are the highlight of the final Waldorf Curriculum school year. A deeply personal, 9 month long exploration where each student delves into a project of their choice, culminating in a public presentation that showcases their learning, growth, and individuality.
These two evenings are a celebration of creativity, courage, hard work and commitment, offering a glimpse into the maturity and depth of each student and Waldorf education. If you are a parent in the lower classes and have not yet attended this remarkable event, we highly recommend you do. You will be inspired, moved, and filled with admiration for what each student brings and what lies ahead in this ‘Waldorf Journey’. Save the date and come and see for yourself.
Final reminder that our St John’s festival will happen on Thursday, 24 July 6 pm.
